Entanglement is a spell cast by druids, calling forth vines and roots to sprout from the earth and restrain a target.
Entanglement can also express the feeling of enmeshment with another to such a degree that boundaries no longer exist. I like to think of this vase as my expression of feeling an almost anxious attachment to something incorporeal, like nostalgia or limiting beliefs.
The internal glaze is a statin/matte glaze in a fleshy pink color representing internal vulnerability. The external glaze has the same fleshy tone, now glossy, spilling over a multidimensional brown that shines with a variety of hues in the sunlight. The glossy outer colors drip and pool over sculpted tendrils, donning hand-carved wood grain. The tendrils are stained to show the contrast of the carvings, but are matte, bare clay, allowing a textural experience.
